The Macedonian Research&Education Network (MARnet) and the Academic and Research Network of Serbia (AMRES) are both national entities that reach a vast number of users by connecting different types of academic and research institutions in their respective countries including schools, universtities, research institutes and other related parties. In essence, they are the main network points through which the national R&D traffic together with a general purpose Internet traffic for the educational institution flows via the GEANT pan-European educational and research network. It is thus of a very high interest to them to help prevent and recognise attacks in their networks and stop them at the entry point, alleviating the pressure at the end point institutions. With a multiyear experience in dealing with high bandwith research specific and general purpose Internet traffic, the past experience of the network engineers from these institutions will be of great importance to the project activities, specifically in the terms of network traffic capture and pre-processing.
